A Touching Sea Tribute for Your Departed Loved One
We complete the necessary paperwork, so you can focus on what truly matters.
Our Memorial Service Packages
Attended Memorial Service
We accommodate small groups of 1 to 12 people. The burial voyage will depart from the Pierpoint Landing in Long Beach, CA. We can also make special arrangements with our affiliate vessel that can carry 13 to 120 passengers to accommodate larger groups.
Unattended Memorial Service
The dispersal of the ashes will be done by the captain.
Viewing-From-Shore Memorial Service
This option is available for those who are unable to travel via boat. Our vessel will depart to a pre-designated location that is visible from the shore, while the ashes will be dispersed by the captain and flowers provided by the family will be laid on the water upon request.
Revisiting the Burial Location
We also offer a unique service where families can return to the memorial location of their departed loved ones to honor a special date or commemorate an event.
We also provide additional services upon request. Please call us for the availability and prices of the following:
Beautiful boat! Captain Tony and Jim was so friendly and personable. The send off of my uncle was beautifully done. They offered us water and cookies on our sailout to the spot. We got a lovely momento with the coordinence. I would definitely recommend this company
Thanks to Captain George and Jim, my dad went very peacefully in the sea which was his desire. The whole experience from the beginning to end was done with so much class and care. These guys are true professionals and everything was perfect as it could be. Captain Tony did a great job scheduling the services. He was very kind and patient. Again, thank you so much to all of you. You will forever be with us. See you guys next year.
It was his life and his death. His journey on this earth has ended but mine will continue. RIP Dad.
I would highly recommend this company. Thorough and easy communication. Staff met us on the boat on time and we left promptly. The service was lovely, and staff respectful of our loss. Was provided with a certificate with burial coordinates so we could go back to "visit". Thankful we chose this company for our burial at sea.
It's never easy to bid farewell to our loved ones but captain Tony and crew provided the beautiful service that helped saying goodbyes easier. Communication was very clear and prompt. He also gave specific institutions to the harbor and the crew were very friendly. It was a very special moment when the ashes were scattered into the sea with the beautiful flowers they provided. The extra gesture of circulating the area gave us a chance to say our last goodbyes. We saw some dolphins unexpectedly and the captain was kind to stop and went flower to them for us to visit with the pleasant surprise.
Thank you captain Tony and crew!
Captain Tony and his team did a phenomenal job at keeping my family's mind at bay during our mourning. We spread 4 loved one's ashes on the "Something Special" boat on August 27, 2023 at 3PM. This also meant that involving 4 separate families would require patience and efficiency. Luckily, the team was able to pacify all of the tardy, lost family members, weight fluctuations, and religious accommodations. We were able to say our last goodbyes overlooking the beautiful deep blue sea with a perfectly cooling breeze. The experience was truly incredible. The team provided us with a satiating emotional closure. We can rest easy now that our family is a part of the infinite sea.
Everything went perfectly. The boat was beautiful, and the crew was professional, attentive and supportive to our needs. We had a wonderful experience in fulfilling my grandparent's wishes in having there ashes spread together at sea.
Captain and crew held us with my father memorial service at sea and everything went perfect. Their service definitely help us with the process and made it easy for us.
Beyond the Sea Memorial Services was absolutely amazing! Tony and Jim were wonderful and was very thoughtful with coffee and cookies. Everything was perfect and intimate, saying our last goodbyes to our beloved. It was beautiful the way the flower petals spread out on the ocean as we watched and remembering our loved one. The boat was nice and roomy for a party of 11. Direction and boat was very easy find. Again absolutely beautiful service they provide!
My brother's wife passed away in Georgia in February 2023. She requested to have her ashes scattered at sea. I contacted Beyond the Sea Memorial Services to perform an in-person ceremony. In May 2023, Captain Tony and his crew helped us make this event happen in the most tasteful and memorable manner. I can highly recommend this company.
I purchased a $300+ urn for my father's ashes. It was made of rock salt and was very beautiful, designed to disintegrate upon contact with the sea. Capt. Tony explained that while it was up to me, he had an alternative where we could disperse his ashes with roses. The urn, he explained, would just fall like a rock, whereas I could disperse his ashes with roses and watch his ashes diffuse and float away. It was a much better choice both aesthetically and spiritually; it allowed for a moment of contemplation. We also dropped the urn into the ocean, and he did not charge me an additional fee. Overall, it was an excellent experience and his sagacious advice improved the service. Thank you Capt. Tony!
Thank you Captain Tony, Captain John, and Jim for fulfilling my mother's last wish. Everyone was extremely professional, and the entire process went smoothly. I highly recommend this service for your loved one.
Thank you Beyond the Sea Memorial Services! We had such a wonderful experience yesterday on your boat "Something Special" scattering my sister's ashes out of the Long Beach harbor. We could not have asked for a more perfect day, sunshine, blue skies and a nice breeze. As we ventured out to the spot where we would release her ashes, we found a dolphin swimming next to the boat and seagulls following us from above as if they were preparing to great my sister. Your crew was very inviting and sensitive to our needs. When we arrived at the scattering location your crew allowed us private time to say our goodbyes. As my sister's ashes were released into the water it appeared as if the ashes formed an angel in the water. It was a beautiful experience! If you are looking for a burial at sea, I would highly recommend Beyond the Sea Memorial Services.
When my mother passed away in Texas, I wanted to fulfill her last wish of returning to California to be scattered at sea. Capt Tony made it easy for me to make all the plans over the phone, and offered many suggestions that made the whole process less painful. I mentioned that one of the group was concerned about sea sickness, but Capt Tony assured me that the voyage would be calm and sea sickness would not be an issue.
On the day of the service, Capt John and Jim were respectful and kind, and helped my family and me to say goodbye to our mom as she would have wished.
The prices were fair, the service was lovely, and the voyage itself was comfortable and smooth. I'm glad that we chose Beyond the Sea and highly recommend them!
Great service & affordable prices. courteous/respectful crew and Captain, big/clean/comfortable vessel.
We came to Beyond the Sea for my grandfather's memorial ceremony, and they were great! We were treated by Captain George and Diane when we got there, and both were extremely friendly and welcoming. They were incredibly considerate of our loss, and did everything with great care and kindness. Our experience with Beyond the Sea was more than we could've asked for. From the beautiful "Something Special" to its lovely staff, I will definitely keep them in mind for any future occasions, and would recommend their services to any family and friends. Thank you Captain George and Diane for taking care of us and our family, and making this a pleasant and memorial ceremony for our family!
Captain George was just amazing. My best friend passed during the height of the winter surge in January 2021. It took nearly 2 months just to get the ashes back from the mortuary. I didn't know the first thing about burials at sea. I went to Yelp. Captain George deserves all the 5 star reviews. The boat, Something Special, really was special. He made us all feel so welcome and comfortable as we said good bye. Thank you so much for the kind words, Captain George. I couldn't have found a better company in my time of need.
I've never met someone as caring as Capitan George. Our family was finally able to go put our loved ones to rest but being our first time scattering ashes we had absolutely no idea what to expect. Captain George was very attentive towards the family at their most sensitive moments. The entire ceremony was done beautifully and it was like taking a huge weight off our chests. We had access to both levels of the boat so we didn't feel anxious at all, the captain also provided coffee, and some non alcoholic beverages. We are so thankful to have come across this service and we definitely recommend to everyone. We'd love to return during happier times.
